Hi, I’m Amy.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy based in Philadelphia specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR therapy. I help adults struggling with trauma, depression, complicated family dynamics, chronic people-pleasing, guilt & shame to feel more embodied and emotionally regulated, and less anxious, stuck, and overwhelmed.

I offer telehealth services for therapy clients within Pennsylvania and IFS coaching services to clients across the world.

My practice is informed by my own transformational healing through EMDR and IFS therapy and the profound changes I’ve witnessed with my clients. I am confident in the effectiveness of this work and whole-heartedly welcome you to join me in it.

I want you to know that change is possible.

Many of my clients come to me disconnected from themselves - feeling lost, anxious, dissociated, like they’re on autopilot without a sense of how to come home to themselves.

It feels selfish or scary to have needs and express them. Setting boundaries?! Not an option. Definitely not without feeling consumed by guilt and worry of how others will react.

Spending time with family leaves them triggered, like they regress to younger versions of themselves, and shut down in ways that they can’t control. Old painful experiences and family dynamics continue to live heavily inside of them, impacting their sense of self, their worthiness, and their relationships.

This is where our work begins - to help you understand the patterns you’ve been trapped in, to learn to regulate and respond differently, and reconnect with your authentic self that underlies it all.

My Background, Clinical Training, and Therapy Style

  • Drexel University - MA in Marriage and Family Therapy

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in PA

  • I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Both are evidence-based models that are highly effective at processing trauma, decreasing depression and anxiety symptoms, restoring balance and connection with yourself.

  • My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and direct. I will challenge you towards the changes you want to make in your life, while walking alongside you every step of the way.

I am not a “blank slate therapist” who analyzes you from afar. I am my authentic self, bringing my own humanity, humor, and life experience to this work.

My approach is informed by my training as a relational, family systems therapist. This means I’m always holding my clients in context - of their personal identities, the intergenerational dynamics of their families, and of the historical and current social, political, and cultural systems we live in. This includes the ongoing impact of systemic oppression, violence, and injustice.

    I draw from:

    • Relational therapy, to explore patterns in how you connect with others

    • Mindfulness and self-compassion practices, to help you navigate stress and self-doubt

    • Evidence-based methods like IFS and EMDR, to support lasting change

I’m originally from the Bay Area in California. I moved to Philly for graduate school and never left.

I’m a white, queer, cis woman and was raised culturally Jewish. I am a sister, friend, daughter, partner, niece, cousin, and human made up of many parts as we all are.

I find great delight in my morning cup of coffee, cats, rambling voice messages with friends, journaling, and any time spent in nature. I love witnessing little moments of sweet connection between humans, including with my clients. You can find me cooing at all the window cats on the streets of South Philly.

I played rugby in college and attribute my bold and confident qualities to my teammates-turned-best friends. Women I admire have always taught me to be more of my weird, wild self and I love helping other folks connect with this in themselves.
